We are Wavin

Our story began in 1955 – in the Netherlands. Today, we are a global company. An innovative, sustainable solution provider for the building and infrastructure industry across multiple continents. Backed up by 60+ years of expertise and a talented team of industry wizards whose out-of-the-box thinking has propelled us to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges around: safe and efficient water supply, better sanitation and hygiene, climate-resilient cities and better building performance.

The Wavin Group headquarters are in Zwolle in The Netherlands. We have a direct presence in 25 European countries with 40 manufacturing sites. Outside Europe, we operate through a global network of agents, licensees and distributors. We employ some 5500 people and have annual revenues of around €1.2 billion. In 2012, Wavin became part of the Mexichem Group, which is now called Orbia, the Latin American leader in pipe systems and petrochemicals. Wavin provides effective solutions for essential needs of daily life: safe distribution of drinking water; sustainable management of rainwater and waste water; energy-efficient heating and cooling for buildings.

Wavin’s European leadership, local presence, commitment to innovation and technical support, all benefit our customers. We consistently achieve the highest sustainability standards and ensure total reliability of supply to support our customers to achieve their objectives. Wavin UK has grown and developed through acquisitions and organic growth, to become one of the largest drainage manufacturers in the world, with a fittingly cast-iron reputation for quality, technical knowledge and customer service. Hepworth’s drainage pedigree was forged in 1858 when Hepworth Iron Company Ltd was founded to mine iron and later produce sanitary pipes and fire bricks.

The foundations for the company and products our customer's experience today were laid down in the 1980s and 1990s when the first generation of fast-fire roller kiln technology was introduced. Now much refined and developed it is this process that delivers our brand standard of Fired to perfection. In 2005 Hepworth was acquired by Wavin. An alliance which underpins our commitment to supplying clay drainage systems and terracotta products of the highest calibre, the lowest possible carbon footprint and with absolute standards compliance.
