A week of whistles at ISH

This year at Germany’s ISH trade fair, we introduced our new Tigris K5/M5 to the world – to overwhelming success.

There was no better place to show of the benefits of Tigris K5/M5 than at 2019’s ISH, the world’s leading international trade fair in Germany. ISH has long been a key fixture in the calendars of manufacturers, engineers and builders throughout Europe and beyond. And for good reason. With over 200,000 people passing through some 2,500 stands, ISH is the ideal event for companies to showcase their energy- and water-saving innovations and get the message out to the world, as around 64 percent of visitors are internationals.

Our stand featured a selection of products, and next to our new Wavin AS+ and Sentio underfloor heating and cooling system, Tigris K5/M5 was another that got people talking. The Tigris K5/M5 is the world’s first fitting to alert installers of leaks through a whistle when seals are not fully pressed.

“I heard a rumour about a new fitting that produces a whistle,” said one of the first visitors to the Wavin stand – and when a product creates buzz, you know you’re off to a good start. Comments like “Wow, very clever!”, “What a great idea!” and “I can’t deny it – it’s really beautiful,” frequently brought smiles to the faces of our attentive staff.

To complement the product itself, we endeavoured to make the stand as interesting for visitors as possible with a range of try-it-for-yourself points of interest. And it wasn’t only the whistle that proved popular (although we suspect perhaps not so popular with neighbouring stands!).
Many were impressed with Tigris K5/M5’s larger bore size and could see the difference themselves by doing a quick pencil test. The on-site water test clearly demonstrated just how much more water can flow through the new bore compared to previous versions, and visitors could also press the fitting themselves to see at first hand how easy it is to complete a fitting with the most common jaws on the market. The in4sure feature also made an impression, with those who tried it commenting what a difference it makes being able to see in 360 degree that the pipe is secure.

Overall, attendance exceeded expectations and the interest and amount of positive feedback on the new Tigris K5/M5 means we are extremely excited about launching it in all markets.
