Wavin is currently looking for an Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager EMEA to join our team in Zwolle, the Netherlands, at the EMEA Headquarters. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on and learn how you can help our changing world.

The role

Wavin introduced a Health & Safety management system and a team to implement it across its operations in Europe. After the initial successes, the organization now requires a driven Health & Safety professional to systematically raise its safety maturity at all hierarchical levels.

The HSE manager coordinates the safety agenda across all disciplines in Wavin EMEA. This includes translating the Orbia and Wavin Global strategies into actionable Health and Safety projects for Wavin EMEA. You will deploy effective program management to support disciplines in systematically delivering improvement projects. You will drive discipline in reporting, project and corrective action follow-up across the organization. Lastly, you will engage daily with executives and directors on topics relating to safety and you will be supported in this role by your direct line manager. The HSE Manager is part of the EMEA central team which is based in Zwolle, The Netherlands. We prefer to have this position posted in the Zwolle Office and are open to strong candidates working from our manufacturing sites across Europe.

As this position will require international, and occasionally intercontinental, travel up to 40% of the time you’ll need to be a person that enjoys travel and meeting people. In addition, it will give you exposure to different ways of working and challenges you to get the same results across different cultures and countries. This position has 20+ indirect reports and no direct reports and as a result you will develop your negotiation and influencing skills as part of your daily duties. To support you, you will be part of the Business Excellence Department, reporting hierarchically into the Business Excellence EMEA director and indirectly to the President Wavin EMEA and the Wavin Global HS Manager. Further, you will work regularly together with colleagues from Latin America & Asia, and in time North-America and Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the key influencers/players to improve safety as measured through KPI’s
  • Drive execution of EMEA and Global safety programs across disciplines and countries
  • Stimulate a strong Health & Safety culture throughout all Wavin EMEA business disciplines
  • Definition and deployment of Wavin EMEA H&S materials, in line with Orbia projects
  • Organizing, developing, training and maintaining the health & safety community
  • Coordinating cluster Health & Safety Managers and aligning cluster programs
  • Identification and prioritization of health & safety projects, deliver support where possible, including business case preparation, investment application process
  • Supportincident investigation teams and/or major incident follow-up
  • Supporting site based HSE staff with environmental compliance
  • Health & Safety reporting and dashboarding

This is a coordinating role and you should expect to spend the majority of your time with the operational teams and HSE community. In this role it is crucial to feel comfortable driving change through a structured way of working. You proactively assume responsibility, deliver, are flexible and eager to learn.
