Innovation takes center stage at Wavin Academy in Adana, Turkey

Wavin’s philosophy of “Connect to better” is the cornerstone of the Wavin Academy, whose goal is to connect customers with innovation. The Wavin Academy is a combination of physical training and meeting centre, supported by a dedicated website - a state-of-the-art solutions centre geared to providing customers with demos, training and practical skills.

Wavin’s philosophy of “Connect to better” is the cornerstone of the Wavin Academy, whose goal is to connect customers with innovation. The Wavin Academy is a combination of physical training and meeting centre, supported by a dedicated website -- a state-of-the-art solutions centre geared to providing customers with demos, training and practical skills. 

The Academy in Wavin Turkey opened on the 30th of May 2014, to fill a very specific gap in the industry. There was an immense lack of available training for the plastic pipe sector in Turkey and so the creation of Wavin Academy was the natural solution to the problem. Since the Academy’s opening, Wavin Turkey has welcomed and hosted over 8000 visitors of which over 3000 plumbers!

According to Müjgan Erbaz, Dean of the Wavin Academy in Turkey, the customer response has been wonderfully positive: “They like to be here for the training and want to join again.They are impressed with the innovative products, as well as with the production side and factory.”

The Academy has five core tasks/goals:

  1. Gaining new customers
  2. Keeping customer loyalty
  3. Increasing brand awareness
  4. Introduce/launch new products
  5. Sustainability of each of the above 4

If the picture above is any indication, then Wavin Turkey is excelling in its mission to connect and inspire its customers with innovative products. Here we see a customer using his ears, rather than a decibel meter, in the low noise pipe test room. They say that “Seeing is believing”... but, in this case, “Hearing is believing.”  And he was not disappointed.

For Wavin Turkey, the future of the Academy looks bright. The focus will be to provide excellent training for new customers (dealers/sub-dealers), so that they can keep up with the latest Wavin technology and product groups. Ultimately, the Academy will be the only training centre for this industry sector in Turkey. Now that is innovation!
