Wavin, UNICEF and Aqua for All renew 'Providing Essentials for Children' partnership
Press release (PDF)

Zwolle, 26 March 2010 - Wavin, UNICEF and Aqua for All have recently renewed their partnership. Under the slogan 'Providing Essentials for Children', parties will continue to initiate water and sanitation projects in developing countries. During the next three years, Wavin will support UNICEF with not only money, but also know-how and materials, making this into a unique cooperation. Wavin will donate with a total value of EUR 200,000 per year and Aqua for All will double these donations.

Since 2005, the partnership has already led to good results in Mali (Africa) and Papua New Guinea. In the Gao region of Mali 32,000 children at 75 schools now have access to sanitation and clean drinking water. In 2008 programme began in three remote provinces of Papua New Guinea: the Eastern Highlands, the Western Highlands and Chimbu.

This project involves repairing or creating water supply systems and sanitary facilities at 30 health centres and 30 schools in 20 villages, providing better circumstances to approximately 5,000 school children and 3,000 people in the villages. More information on this partnership can be found on-line at www.providingessentialsforchildren.com
